Juan Mata: Manchester United midfielder has used social media to welcome new players to the club
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has used social media to greet both Daley Blind and Argentina international Angel Di Maria to the club.
Di Maria arrived at Old Trafford from European Champions Real Madrid last week for over £60m.
Ajax confirmed the club had accepted a fee of around £14m for Blind, who was withdrawn from their squad for Sunday's trip to Groningen.
The 24-year-old was in Manchester over the weekend for a medical, as United boss Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline.
“Welcome Di Maria and Blind,” Mata stated on social media.
United are expected to make a statement later this afternoon to confirm the arrival of the Netherlands defender.
A statement from United on Sunday read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Ajax to sign Daley Blind, subject to a medical and personal terms.
"A further announcement will be made when the process is complete."
