Ashley Young would love his form for Manchester United to earn him a recall to the England squad.
Young starred as Man Utd beat Tottenham 3-0 on Sunday to stay fourth in the Premier League and go a point adrift of third-placed Arsenal - and just two points from second placed Manchester City.
Roy Hodgson announces his squad on Thursday for the Euro 2016 Group E qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley on March 27 and the friendly with Italy in Turin on March 31.
And Young, who last played for England in September 2013, told Sky Sports News HQ that he is ready for a recall if called upon by England manager Hodgson.
"Fingers crossed I can get myself back into the England team," he said.
"I've always said that I want to represent my country. It's always an honour to play for England and hopefully I've done enough to get myself back in the squad.
"But I'm concentrating on things at club level and I'll just have to wait and see."
Young is certainly content with his amount of playing time for United.
"Of course, I'm happy. Playing regularly week in, week out," said Young. "As a player, that's all you want to do - to be playing well and cement your place in the team.
"Obviously it helps when you've got fantastic teammates around you, and a great team spirit that we've got.
"I'm playing well and enjoying my football. The team's doing well too."
Young was delighted by the manner of United's victory over Tottenham - Louis van Gaal's side scored all three goals in the first half at Old Trafford to secure a sixth win in their last eight league games.
"It was a great first half," said Young. "We knew exactly what we wanted to do. It was a great team performance, and we want to build on that.
"Obviously we want to finish in a Champions League spot, and as high as possible."
Young's current five-year contract expires in the summer of 2016, but the former Aston Villa player said he is not concerned about a new United deal.
"That's down to the chairman and manager to speak about," he said. "I'm just concentrating on my football. I'm not thinking about the length of my contract. I just want to do well in every game that I'm picked to play."
And Young insisted that leaving Man Utd is not a consideration.
"Of course not. I'm a United player and I've got a year left on my contract," he said.
Young was speaking at the launch of bwin Manchester United Casino - the world’s first club-based real money casino app which is available now on Android from http://ift.tt/1x8QHSe and will be available soon on iOS through the App Store.
