Louis Van Gaal: The Dutchman is keen to build upon wins over Everton and West Ham
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is hopeful his team can maintain their positive momentum when they travel to the Hawthorns to play West Brom on Monday.
Following an unconvincing start to the season, the Red Devils are seeking a third consecutive Premier League win after victories over West Ham and Everton.
Van Gaal saw positive signs in the team’s disappointing 5-3 loss to Leicester City and draws against Sunderland and Burnley and believes the team are now developing greater chemistry which in turn will lead to consistency.
"(Against) Leicester City we played very good but we gave it away,” he said. “(Of) the other matches we played - two draws and we could have won them.
“We were the better team, we created chances, but we didn't score.
"We have to wait and see if that tendency (is) going through. We have to wait and see if it is true. We have to start on Monday against West Bromwich Albion with a victory."
This season is the experienced Dutchman’s first taste of Premier League football and the competiveness of the league has stood out to him.
United have managed just two points in their three away games this season so Van Gaal is not underestimating the difficulty of claiming all three at the Hawthorns.
"I think West Brom are very difficult to beat, especially at their home,” Van Gaal said. “They play not only long balls but they can also play a positional game. They are dangerous opponents.
"They are not easy to beat but there is no opponent in the Premier League that is easy to beat. That is the difference with other leagues."
United's lengthy injury list has eased during the international break with the likes of Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick back in training and possibly in contention.
Captain Wayne Rooney is missing as he serves the second part of a three-game suspension.
